Shacreate Sweets is a one-person bakery in the Chicago suburbs. Every container of cookies and every cake is made by hand, in small batches, to order.
It started the way most of these things start. A recipe that people kept asking about, then kept asking for, until asking turned into ordering.
Five cookie flavors anchor the menu: chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, oatmeal pecan, old school butter and peanut butter. The German chocolate cake came later and has been quietly stealing the show ever since.
You will find her at community markets and church events around the south and west suburbs, behind a gold and navy table, selling until she sells out.
